The municipality of Ravels (14,020 inhabitants on 1 January 2007; 5,499 ha) is located in Kempen, north-west of Antwerp, on the border with the Netherlands. The municipality of Ravels is made since 1976 of the former municipalities of Ravels, Poppel and Weelde.

Ravels is located in the arrondissement of Turnhout.
The municipal flag of Ravels is blue with three yellow triangles placed
along the hoist and whose point reaches 2/3 of the flag width.
According to Gemeentewapens in België - Vlaanderen en Brussel, the flag was adopted by the Municipal Council on 27 October 1980, confirmed by the Executive of Flanders on 10 March 1987 and published in the Belgian official gazette on 3
December 1987.
The colours of the flag are taken from the arms while the three
triangles recall the three former municipalities.
The municipal arms of Ravels, as shown on the municipal website, are
"Azure a saint Michael slaying a dragon, all or".
Servais shows the arms of the former municipality of Weelde as the same
saint trampling the dragon and holding the sword horizontally over his
head.
