Mordialloc is located on the eastern shore of Port Phillip Bay, c. 25 km south-east of Melbourne. Although Mordialloc Sailing Club was officially established in its present location in the early 1960s, it has connections with sailing at Mordialloc since the 1880s.

A picture [previously at http://www.mordiallocsc.com.au/images/Photos/Open.Day_2002.jpg] of the 2002 MSC opening day shows the burgee.
The burgee of the MSC is red with a white horizontal stripe in the middle and a white square charged with a red M.
