The Lake Macquarie Yacht Club (LMYC), founded in 1930, is located on Lake Macquarie in Belmont Bay, New South Wales. It claims to be "the largest and oldest sailing club outside the Sydney metropolitan area". Lake Macquarie is Australia's largest coastal saltwater lake (24 km at its longest point and 3 km at its widest), located approximately 150 km north of Sydney and 20 km south of Newcastle.
The burgee of LMYC is white with a red chevron and horizontal stripe forming a kind of "horizontal Y".
