The Chelsea Yacht Club (CYC) is located in Chelsea on Port Phillip Bay, near Melbourne. The club was founded on 24 March 1938. On 1 November 1957, a CYC sailing race was won by young member John Bertrand (b. 1946), today the most famous Australian skipper. In 1983, Bertrand skippered "Australia II" to victory over "Big Bad" Dennis Connors' "Liberty", ending 132 years of American supremacy in the Americas Cup.
The burgee of CYC is blue with a red cross. My image is made after a graphic representation of the burgee on the CYC website.
