On http://www.apunipima.org.au/capecommunitiespages/Kaurareg Apunipima Page.html you can read that "The Kaurareg people's native title rights over seven Torres Strait islands were recognised in the Federal Court in Brisbane on the 23rd May 2001." There is on this page the flag of the Kaurareg aboriginal nation.

Despite living in the Torres Strait islands, the Kaurareg nation are closer to mainland Aboriginal people than to other Torres Strait Islanders. This is reflected in the use of the Aboriginal flag on their webpage and the use of the Aboriginal colours in the Kaurareg flag.
