In addition to the already described white-red flag Freistadt
also uses a red-white-red flag (basically a banner-of-arms) with the town arms.

What's the story behind the arms of Freistadt? It's the same as the national coat of
arms.

The arms is used as a seal since at least 1282 (with some temporary
additions later on, coming back to the original design 1939). Originally it was the symbol of the supremacy of the Austrian dukes over this town.
