Argent a bear passant and an oath taking hand couped both Gules.

The bear in the arms refers to the Bear Cave, the only natural cave in Burgenland, which is situated
north of the village (photo source).
It was not discovered until after the First World War. Excavations have unearthed the
bones of Ice Age cave bears, hyenas and wolves. The complete skeleton of a cave bear is on display at the
Breitenbrunn Tower Museum.
No information was found about the hand of oath, which may have the same meaning as the one in the arms of
Mönchhof: a sign of loyalty and proper stewardship of the peasants
towards the landowners.
There are two versions of the arms which the municipality uses on their buildings. One has the bear with a
round hump, the other has it with an angular hump. The former version is used on the communal website, on
the flags and on the kindergarten (photo source).
The latter version is used on the town hall (photo) and on
Wikipedia/Wikimedia.
