The coat of arms was granted on 1 April 1981.
Quartered shield:
1. A golden ploughshare standing upright on a red field.
2. A red six-rayed sun on a gold field.
3. A red sickle pointing to the left on a gold field.
4. A golden bunch of grapes on a red field.
The municipal coat of arms, based on an old seal design in use since the 18th century, symbolically points
to the past, present and future: the ploughshare and sickle represent agriculture, which plays a dominant
role today just as it did in the past; the bunch of grapes recalls the winegrowing once practised by the
farmers of Pama in the Edelstal vineyards; the sun, as a symbol of energy,
represents the municipality's dynamic adaptation to the demands of life in the present and future.
