![[Flag of Ituzaingo]](../images/a/ar-b-it.gif)
The partido de Ituzaingó is located in the suburbs of the City of Buenos Aires, Capital of Argentina. This district is 38 Km² and it had 162,983 inhabitants in the last census (2001).
The name Ituzaingó (a guaraní word meaning “water falls”) recalls the Battle of Ituzaingó between Argentina and the Empire of Brazil in 1827. There is a department of the Province of Corrientes with the same name.
The district was part of the neighboring Partido de Morón until 1994 when it became an independent district by provincial law.

At left the logo of the municipal government appears. The text inside it is "MI". It stands for "Municipalidad de Ituzaingó" (Ituzaingó Municipal Government), and the name of the district (Ituzaingó) appears at right. However reading both words together: "MI ITUZAINGÓ", it could also mean "My own Ituzaingó".
Below the smaller text is "Para toda la vida" (For all the life).
