The Province

Esmeraldas is northernmost province of Ecuador, in Costa region on border with Columbia. Capital is Esmeraldas.

The flag is shown on a photo taken on 21 February 2007 and contributed to Flickr on 25 March 2007 by "fotospresidencia2". The flag on the left of the photo is the provincial flag of Esmeraldas, but with the coat of arms added in the middle.The flags displayed on the stand are expected to be official since the visitor was Rafael Correa, President of the Republic.
