The NAVA image at www.nava.org and shown in the American Flag Survey (2004) and American City Flags (Purcell, 2003) is of seal on a white field. A large detailed image of the seal is at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Manchester_City_Seal.png (used in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester%2C_New_Hampshire). Apart from the lack of colors it differs in the design shown for the flag in American Flag Survey (2004) and American City Flags (Purcell, 2003) in the exact attitude of the crest. I made a new image based on this design, recolored to match the image American Flag Survey (2004) and American City Flags (Purcell, 2003).

The seal shows a crested shield within a circular ring reading "City of Manchester" from 10 to 2 o'clock and "incorporated June 1846" on the opposite sector, both set in golden yellow serif capitals on a black background separated by small suns. The shield is party per fess and the I party per pale, all three areas thus delimited showing local scenery. Above the shield, as crest, a human arm brandishing a hammer and scroll reading "LABOR VINCIT".
