The municipality of North Kynouria (Βόρεια Κυνουρία, 10,341 inhabitants in 2011; 57,689 ha) is located in the eastern part of Arcadia, between the northwestern shores of the Argolic Gulf and northern Laconia. The seat of the municipality is in Astros (Άστρος, 2,408 inh.). The municipality was not changed with the 2011 local government reform.

The former flag of North Kynouria (Kokkonis website) was white with the the name of the municipality on three lines. The word "ΔΗΜΟΣ" is white on a blue panel, while the two other words are blue on
white.
A simpler version of the flag (photo, 2011) is white with the name of the municipality in blue, on two lines.
