Coat of Arms
The shield is divided per fess. In the chief is a golden (yellow) beehive in a green field. In the base is a silver (white) anchor in a blue field. The shield has a white border with four black ancles, looking like tools to open wooden freight boxes. The shield is topped by a crown.
- The beehive symbolizes agriculture
- the anchor symbolizes coasts and beaches
- The tools on the bordure (used in order to loosen the soil) symbolize the municipality's name
The coat of arms was established by order of Consejería de Presidencia del Gobierno de Canarias on 22 May 1985, and published in BOC on 14 June 1985.
