António is a consistent and prolific contributor to FOTW and what he lacks in tact, he more than makes up for in passion and enthusiasm for his subject. He has been called FOTW's "unofficial" critic and policeman, but he is a unrelenting force of nature, and his desire to make FOTW, and the scholarship behind it, the best that it can be, is unquestioned. António is a person who truly sees issues in either black or white, and has little patience with shades of grey.
It my experience at FOTW, he has been a two-headed axe, both helpful and sometimes hurtful. At time he has helped me with my various projects, but always he held them to his own high standards of expectations, and he has never hesitated in letting me know when I failed. This page is a good example, he considers it a vanity project, and basically told me to do it without his help, so I have. I'm sure he'll let me know what he doesn't like about it.
