Icking Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above parted per pale, at dexter Vert a cross patty Argent, at sinister Argent, a dog's head issuant Sable tongued Gules; beneath Argent a triplemount issuant Vert, charged with a fess wavy Argent.
Meaning:
The triplemount is representing the villages Dorfen, Icking proper and Irschenhausen. The fess wavy is representing the Isar River and its importance for rafting and trading, but also the dangers caused by frequent floodings. The cross patty is an attribute of the Holy Cross, to which the church of Icking is dedicated and to St. Ulrich, patron saint of another church on a local hill. The dog's head is taken from the municipal arms of Dorfen, which had been an independent municipality until 1978. He is referring to the "Gasterpudel", a ghost having the guise of a dog, who was frightening travellers and waggoners.
