Grünenbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Argent a bend sinister Vert charged with irregular black wavelets and an initial "G" or on its centre; beneath parted per pale, at dexter Or a bull's head Sable tongued Gules, at sinister three linden leaves Argent in bend.
Meaning:
The upper half displays the pre-1972 of Grünenbach, green bend and wavelets together are canting, representing a green creek. The bull's head is taken from the family arms of the Lords of Hohenegg. The former municipality of Ebratshofen had been one district capital of the Lordship of Hohenegg. The lower sinister quarter displays the family arms of the Knights of Laubenberg. They were first mentioned in 1247 and had been in service as commissionaires of the Counts of Montfort, the Imperial Kempten Abbey and the Bishopric of Augsburg. The former municipality of Schönau was ruled by the knights as an Austrian fiefdom.
